1. First off, what is AGENCY?
AGENCY is a crossover fancomic that combines unlikely anthropomorphic worlds together. It's mostly parody material based on the noir genre, romance genre, action genre and (insert genre here) genre. All characters are plucked out from different points of their life to come together in a completely fictional universe. (See more in Q#8)
2. How many characters are there that I may recognize?
A lot. And there is no limit to what crazy cameos I may come up with. You might just see a cereal mascot in there...
3. Why is [character] so OOC?
Yes, there will come times when this occasionally happen... well, that's a lie. If you've noticed, ALL characters are pretty much out of character. The real Sandy would never be in the midst of a nitty gritty situation like this... Fox and Krystal's situation completely destroys all canon settings from their universe... and Pokemon roaming the streets without owners? Preposterous! I've simply taken well-known characters and molded their personalities into this parody of the crime/mystery genre. Times will come when they'll do things that are completely uncharacteristic. And frankly... that's because I want it that way. :D
(More details on Q#8)
4. Will you please add [person] to AGENCY?
No.
Seriously, I've said this a whole buncha times already-- I have a script. Every main character and secondary character and villain and henchman and cameo speaking role has already been chosen. Maybe the character you suggested will appear, but I'm not exactly gonna spoil it.
And no, there are no humans (At least, not in that certain planet). It's an anthro fancomic. I will not add the Power Rangers, Fire Lord Ozai or Batman.
5. Besides the Pink Panther, will any other Classic Cartoon characters appear later on?
There definitely will be. Classic cartoon characters are handled with much more subtlety than the more recent figures, like video game characters. Like the Pink Panther, I don't think my contemporary dialogue would do anything other than sully a good character I enjoyed watching as a child. So their roles, either significant or tiny, will be very much downplayed. The best example you'll see of this is in DAY 2, when Parappa tells Sandy the story of how Talfryn (the region of land they're in) came to be.
6. In what planet does this take place? It it really completely fictional?
The planet, named Mundus, is indeed fictional. But this planet is situated on System 4 (from the Beyond Good and Evil universe). Its ties with Hyllis are purely economical, thus making Talfryn's main currency into Units. The closest solar system to System 4 is Lylat, which is only vaguely aware of its existence.
7. Does this universe contain non-anthropomorphic animal companions?
Yes. Pokémon.
...DON'T JUDGE ME. I was 16 when I came up with this.
8. What of the characters and their continuity? Do they follow canon, or are their fates completely made up?
It really depends on the character. They've all been taken out of a certain time in their canon universe to create an alternate one in Mundus. I will post a small example, but won't get too far into it.
Fox, Krystal and Marcus:
The rise of the Anglars never occured, so the StarFox team remains broken up, save for Fox and Krystal. Fox came close to breaking up with her as it's stated in canon, but never went through with it. He asked her to marry him instead and she accepted. They took refuge in the peace of Mundus and Fox traded in his work as a mercenary to work in reconnaissance. Krystal, wanting to be closer to Fox and also to watch over him, always accompanied him of the missions. Certain events later on happen which leave Krystal in the adamant, confused and panicked state that she is in in AGENCY. They will be explained eventually.
As the story progresses, you'll be able to see what sort of things went on in the other characters' pasts.
9. What is Mundus' total GDP and spoken language? Is it a colony under the authority of an organization? Is it independant? Did it have to be terra-formed in order to sustain life? Does it have multiple enviroment or is a world with one distigui--?
WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WAIT WAIT WAIT.
Stop.
Umm... what?
Okay, Number A: What kind of questions are these?! Most of these questions are not relevant to the plot whatsoever and they'll have absolutely no effect on the story. It's like if I was telling you I went to the amusement park and you ask me if the road on the way there was made of either asphalt or cement. Secondly, I am not nerd enough to actually put this much thought into a FANCOMIC. If it were a 100% original creation of mine like Hammerspace, then yeah I would. But geez! I was sixteen when I came up with this! Give me a friggin' break!
9-2. But it doesn't make sense!
YOU DON'T MAKE SENSE.
9-3. Oh, yeah. REAL mature.
Why, yes. Yes I am.
9-4. Shut up.
No, you shut up.
10. Does Shadow have his Chaos powers in this comic? Will he use them? Why DOESN'T he?
Oh, boy. Um, this is a tough one to answer without spoiling anything. All I can say for now is that they do, did or will exist. Be patient, children. The story has a pace to follow.
11. Shadow and Sandy?! WTF, d00d!!!
...Is that even a question...?
I'm going to be brutally honest... I don't know where it came from.
Back when AGENCY didn't have a name and I was just mixing game
worlds/cartoon worlds together, I had Sandy and Shadow as working characters on their
own, not paired up. I was illustrating a dream sequence having to do with
future events (making it up as I drew) and suddenly BANG! They meet. Came right outta nowhere. I stopped drawing, read it over
like seven times with mild confusion and finally decided that I liked
it. Really. I don't remember what gave me the idea. It just happened.
I actually think what really had me emphasize their partnership was my personal opinion about the characters. It turned into an experiment, if you will. Putting a character that I thought was mega hella awesome with another character who's existence pretty much grinds my gears. Shadow's turned slightly more tolerable in my eyes.
12. Isn't Secret Squirrel supposed to have... eyes?
Oh, sorry.
Um, I kinda like him the way it is now...
But for your sake, that's not his original hat.
